All about public schools and taxes

Today's subject will be Public schools and taxes

I cannot say that all conservatives are Christian that would be ambiguous , but the fact that people like Sarah Palin have been quoted to say "this is god's nation" puts it into view

I found out that my girlfriend had choir in her high school in a small city on the southern part of our state. in the weeks earlier I had attended a 5th of July parade for her county and was impressed with how political it had all become and the peoples reaction to it, every single person running for some political office was there and handing out flyers, and almost everyone that was around me was telling them to lower taxes, when the fire trucks rolled through the city the people said "we could really use some new equipment" I turned to the woman telling me this and said to her "a few minutes ago you asked to lower taxes, but you want new equipment? what do you think pays for that stuff?"

which leads me to my next point, public schools... I found out a few days ago that our district is laying off around 500 teachers jobs, which is sad. and it's because the budgets keep getting cut cause everyone's afraid to raise taxes in fear of losing their position in the government, now I should say that I am on the low end of the economic curve when it comes to income but I would still rather see them raise taxes and pay for useful programs like education then budget cuts and layoffs.

But how come I find out that in the small town (5000 people) where this school exists that tax payers are paying for choir, if you don't quite understand yet let me explain.. the separation of church and state in lay mans terms means "if its paid for with taxes it cannot have religion in it" it's as simple as that, that's why churches and private religious schools are Tax exempt, I asked her what kind of songs they would sing and she would say that they were mainly Christian songs, now I am sure if I talk to almost everyone in this town they would say "who cares we are Christian" but no way would this ever fly in the big city to the north, if it happened in my town every atheist, Muslim, Jew would come out and say "that's not fair I don't want my child learning "silent night", now This is obviously an elective course, which means no one is being forced to take it however the books, teachers salary and rent are all paid for by tax payers who may not be Christian, it's simply not fair to every other religion, I understand America is mainly "Jesus followers" but the "Truth" is not democratic right and wrong have nothing to do with popularity hundreds of years ago everyone "knew" the earth was the center of the universe" makes sense right god created it should be right smack dab in the middle and everything in the sky circles around it and that's what everyone thought and everyone was wrong.

I think that public schools are about education not religion and if you don't like that send your kid to a private Christian school, that's what my parents did and they paid allot of money for me not to learn anything about evolution biology or true history, thank god (pun intended) for my public high school for showing me these

Todays Episode

Another day Another and ethical debate

so one of my friends was talking about her friend who i referenced in the last post

well to the point, my friend is trying to hook her up with someone because she is lonely and i feel for her besides her Christian "you need Jesus in your life or else your incomplete" lifestyle she is a nice girl. but here comes the ethical debate, the guy she likes that she met on a certain unnamed social networking site told her that he loved her and wanted to have children with her and start a family but here is the problem he is married, so she messages him that she wants to have children with him and break up his marriage and marry him, but what happened to "til death do us part" this is the same girl who if someone in her family was homosexual she would probably disown them and tell them hell no they cant be married its a sacred bond between a man and a woman, whatever i get it, the problem is how can you on one hand tell yourself to live a holy life and follow gods word and in the same breath insult a non believer (me) and in the same breath again ask a guy to leave his wife to have kids with you. i live my life by a very simple code, treat people the way you would want them to treat you if i am married i would not want someone to break it up so i will in turn not break up a marriage...

it just seems that people pick and choose to follow the rules when it fits them best and not 100% of the time...

well i have a headache and i need some sleep gotta go back to work in 5 hours

First blog post

This is my first post with more to come, i used to run a website called atheist forum n i would unload my thoughts on society and religion now i will use this as my venting tool,

today i had a decision to make and its not a easy one and my friends friend told her "he should pray for his answer, oh wait never mind" shes single and me and my friend are trying to set her up but she couldn't go out Sunday because its her "god day" because i am not one to hold back when someone slides in a quick atheist hit like praying, i told her she should pray for a boyfriend she has been single for some time, i told her i would talk to my imaginary friend about my difficult decision and let her know what he says... i know i am kind of being a jerk, but me and her a have a long history of her not respecting my beliefs you see i am pretty passive until someone says something against free thinkers or something that questions my ethics, one time i got absolutely terrible food poisoning and had to have her and my friend drive me home because i was so out of it at my job and she told me it was got punishing me for not believing in him, the ignorance of this statement could only come from someone who is deeply religious, the idea of a creator who "loves his creations" but punishes them not only by not sending them to a paradise when they die but also punishing them on this "test" of a world view

if god loves us then why is there so much evil in the world and so many evil things are done in the name of him or another god

well food for thought

next time ill put more time into the layout
